SHRI |
SHRI hope for a society where everyone can participate in, enjoy, and be happy with sports. SHRI hope for sports that we can all do together, even if we are not good at them. SHRI hope for a sports culture where mothers and children can do them together, and where we can share small laughs with people we meet for the first time.
Sports should be a way to share our abilities, and there should be no obstacles to communication. No one should be discriminated against in front of sports. Sports should not remain or be left as another blind spot for human rights. We should look around to see if someone is suffering from sports somewhere. Sports should be something we do together.
SHRI gathers ordinary people who love and cherish sports to think about ways for us to live together through sports. We share and inform the process and results of our thinking. We believe that sports are in line with universal human values, and we will strive to ensure that no one is left out of sports.

Declation |
Sports are human rights. Everyone should be able to participate without discrimination, and people and society who participate should be able to pursue health and happiness without any restrictions. Through sports, we should be able to realize ourselves, recognize each other’s dignity, and dream of an equal and fair society that restores humanity. We should believe that sports are a means to guarantee human rights, and that the results obtained through them promote and expand everyone’s human rights.
However, our society still forces sports that are discriminatory and restrictive. Laws and systems based on discrimination and imbalance block the rights that everyone should be able to gain and find from sports. A culture that regards competition as the highest value allows sports to harm human dignity and the value of mutual respect. While individuals’ rights to sports are being ignored and opportunities are being deprived, sports have lost their original role in schools and society. They do not recognize that sports are a basic human right.
We must now strive to guarantee human rights in all areas related to sports through all available means and methods. We must strengthen the consciousness of sports sovereignty and democracy, and pursue the common interests that can be obtained through sports. We must fully secure sports human rights and achieve a new horizon of sports rights and culture. Furthermore, we must lead social reforms that allow people to easily and safely choose and participate in sports without any restrictions on natural and social conditions such as gender, age, disability, race, nationality, political and religious background. We must unite so that the process and results of such attempts and efforts can be universal in all regions of the world.
Let us assert that sports are not a choice but an indispensable human right. Let us clearly recognize and believe in the value, beauty, and utility of sports human rights and join hands to move forward. Let us create a society where everyone can be happy through sports. The Sports and Human Rights Institute will take the lead.
